Red Shrimp Tree
Perrenial Red Shrimp Plant (Justicia Brandegeana) is native to Mexico and Venezuela. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.
Grown indoor and outdoor
Light: best in morning sun/bright light/filtered sun not mid-day direct sun. Need sun to bring out the bright colors but too much sun can burn or cause colors to fade.
Bloom: flowers most heavily from spring to late summer.
Deadheading isn't necessary
Water: outdoor in containers need more watering. Especially in summer months. Never allow to dry out. During the winter, cutback the watering and do not let temperatures go below 55 F.
Fertilizer: every couple of weeks with a light liquid fertilizer that included micronutrients and encourages blooming.
Soil: A light, well draining soil is preferred.
Tree Height: 4 - 5 feet
